About Me

" I’ve always been fascinated by people’s stories and amazed by human adaptability, resilience and in essence “what makes individuals tick”.  I hope I never lose this curiosity and passion". This was my opening statement on my application to train as a counsellor and it is just as true today.

At Ivy Corner Counselling And Psychotherapy, I believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling and satisfying life. I  provide counselling and psychotherapy services to help individuals deal with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, self esteem, relationship issues, life changing transitions, loss, grief,  chronic illness, life threatening transitions and bereavement.  I'm an experienced therapists who will work collaboratively with you to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. I use evidence-based approaches to help you achieve your goals and improve your overall well-being.

I qualified as a nurse over 25yrs ago and my work as a Cancer specialist nurse and Macmillan Nurse in variety of settings (hospitals, community and hospice care) and these experiences lead me to want to take on the further training and become a qualified counsellor.  I am passionate about psychological care and support of individuals through life changing transitions and my dual qualifications and experience provide a unique insight and skill mix.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist having completed a BACP recognised post graduate diploma course at the The University of East London.

Additional qualifications include the "CRUSE bereavement is normal” course, BSc. (Hons) in Applied Biology, MSc. in Palliative care and am a practicing NMC Registered General Nurse,
